"Never said you were." Giving her a drunken smile, he hoped that she wouldn't think he saw her as someone who just wanted to expand their wealth. He did see a nice, lovely and kind girl behind this drunkenness. Keeping his arms around her, he just pressed his cheek against the top of her head. For some reason, he thought they looked like a drunken couple. And he found it cute that they looked like this, even though they barely knew each other and were drunk.

She liked the feel of his cheek on her head like that. The contact, the comfort that he gave to her. It...it reminded her of Oliver, comforting her when she was a child and she was sick, or something. Not that she saw him as Oliver, not by any means. The comfort he gave her, the affection, it reminded her of things long past. But more importantly than that, she really did enjoy it. She really did enjoy him. She closed her eyes, but wasn't able to open them again as she fell into a cross between sleep and being passed out from her drinking.

It was a bit unusual for him to be in such a cute position. Most of the girls he'd gone out with, or even been near, had never gone for cute: They'd always tried to make themselves seem absolutely stunning. While he did think Thea was stunning, he also thought she was adorable as well. And as she fell asleep/passed out against him, he decided he should make her more comfortable. Standing up, slightly unsteadily, he picked her up and took her to a free bedroom. Putting her in the bed, he collapsed into a soft chair near the bed and sighed. If Bruce could see him now...Well, he was sure he'd be getting a lecture.

When a friend of a friend at this party saw Thea drunk and puking in the vase, he had decided to take a picture and send it to his friend, figuring that might be worth something to some tabloid. Said friend had sent it to Tommy, and now here he was. He felt a bit too much at home right now, although he hadn't been to a party like this in a long time. Still, some things never change.
With Oliver gone, he felt like it was his job to watch out for Thea and to be protective of her. She was on a self-destructive path, and he needed to pull her off of it. This isn't what Oliver would want, and damn it, he wasn't going to let her emulate Oliver until she ended up dying of bad drugs or alcohol poisoning or bad decisions. She was too young for that.
He kept calling out for her, but wasn't getting anywhere. He checked some rooms until he saw her passed out on a bed, and a boy nearby. "Hey!" Tommy snapped at him, hurrying over to Thea's side, "I don't know what she said, but this isn't happening." He was too focused on trying to get Thea up that he didn't pay much attention to who this other guy was.

Sitting in the chair, Dick had sobered up somewhat and had realized that this would like a bad situation if anyone were to walk in. Rubbing his face, he knew that tonight had been unusual, but a good night as well: He'd met an heiress, spent some time with her before cuddling up with her and then taking her to a bedroom where she could rest. Sighing and looking up at the ceiling, leaning back in the chair.
And then, a man stormed into the room: Not a man he knew personally, but a man he knew from reading the tabloids. It was Tommy Merlyn, one of the biggest playboys he'd read about. As he began to tell him this wasn't happening, the young Grayson forced himself to his feet and sighed. He'd been one to argue with others before, and now was one of those times.
"Look, I wasn't going to take advantage or anything: She passed out and I was putting her in the bed to make sure she'd be fine. I'm Richard Grayson, or Dick if you prefer to call me." He said nothing else, but just looked a bit annoyed that someone would accuse him of this.

Tommy looked at him for a few moments, "Wait, Grayson? I remember hearing about you," Tommy said. He sighed, "You know, I actually believe you for some reason. I don't know, maybe it's just that I can't see someone like me in you. Or rather, the old me." He looked at Thea. Yeah, if this was the old him, he'd be worried.
Tommy walked over to Dick and put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm going to believe you," he said, "I'm not leaving her here, though. She'd be better off at home, so I'm going to take her there."

Nodding at Tommy's words, he knew that the arrival of Dick Grayson had caused a bit of a stir. And then Tommy said he believed him, despite the fact he shouldn't. "I'm sure you weren't that bad." He just said that, knowing something of Tommy's escapades but believing that this man was more mature than that now.
"I wouldn't let you leave her here: She needs to be home, in her own bed. You take her home. I'm sure I'll see her around sometime." He wasn't trying to be cocky or arrogant, just showing concern and hope to see her again. Hopefully when they were both sober.

Tommy nodded and picked Thea up in his arms, "I'll get her home safely. And trust me, I was probably worse than 'that bad'," he told Dick. He walked to the door with Thea in his arms and turned to Dick, "Nice to meet you. I'm glad that you have self restraint. She sure could use that." And with that, he left.
