"As long as they know the Sandman stole their stuff, I don't much care." The Sandman shrugged, cocking his gun. He anticipated a gunfight was on the cards. Thank goodness this office had a lot of cover.

"Sandman?" the guard scoffed, "You've got to be fucking with me. Some guy who fancies himself some kind of folk figure is trying to rob us?"
He shook his head before adding, "You need professional help man. You've got problems. Speaking of problems.."
More guards appeared from the stairway, quickly coming down the hallway, each one armed.

Could be worse. The Sandman thought to himself. I could have kept calling myself Morpheus.
No duh he had problems. He didn't sleep well...at all.
He heard the sound of the approaching guards. Not only were there more of them, but he was running low on sleep gas canisters. He honestly didn't expect this much resistance.

The newly arrived guards had their weapons trained at the door, ready to fire.
The first guard spoke up again, "Hostages or not, no way you're getting out of here in one piece. Well, Mr. Sandman, it's been fun."
That's when the lights shut off completely.
"The hell?"

Well, this is convenient. Wesley though to himself. Still, an opportunity had presented himself, and he intended to use it.
He dashed for the door and opened it, giving the guards a good gassing.

The main guard facepalmed. He forgot to tell them to bring gassmasks..
Several of the men fired wildly, winging one of them in the arm.
"Friendly fire! Cease firing! Friendly fire!"
Most of the men were coughing now and it wasn't long before the first man dropped.

Ah, and now they were dropping. The Sandman loved his sleeping gas. He made sure his own gas mask was on tightly before barging through the guards and running down the hall.

When Dodds was a decent length away from all that mess, the lights flickered back to life before the hallway intercom clicked on.
"Why hello there Mr..Sandman..," said the obviously altered voice, "I hope you appreciated.. my assistance."

The Sandman raised his eyebrows under his mask. So this was the person who turned the lights off? That...wasn't particularly impressive. Helpful, but not impressive.
"Right..." he said cautiously. "And you are...what? The Wizard of Oz? Should I not pay attention to the man behind the curtain?"

"Hehehe. Yes, that i'll do," the voice chuckled, "Call me the Wizard. And if it wasn't for my 'magic' you'd be swiss cheese right about now..I hope you know that.."

"Oh, is that why you're calling? Just to gloat?" Sandman asked. "Thanks for that, by the way."

"I have a deal for you.." he continued, "An I scratch yours you scratch mine type scenario.. If you refuse..well let's just say I can make the rest of your evening very.. unpleasant.."

"What? You'll turn the lights back off?" Wesley snarked. Still, he was a savvy man when it came to business. "Alright, what's this deal?"

"I'd watch it with that tone of yours.. I am in (temporary) control over every facet of this building..." grunted the voice before continuing, "I have a job for you, a perfect one for a thief. You're going to break into the office of the big boss himself, Malcolm Merlyn, and steal something for me."

The Sandman shrugged. "I was gonna do that anyway. What exactly do you want me to steal?"
