Somebody in the Glades was always throwing a rager at somebody's broken down old shitstack of a house. Like there was actually something worth celebrating here in this damn pit. Rose guessed they just did to ignore reality for whoever small amount of time that may be. Who was she kidding, she was exactly the same way.
She didn't know whose house this was or a single damn person at this party and she could give less of a shit. She was just here to get wasted and have a good time.

The parties Thea usually went to were in big houses or mansions or something. It was rare she'd go to the Glades for a party, but there were indeed times it happened. Now was one such time, but she was less interested in the drinking and more interested in finding some drugs. She figured the alcohol was going to be shitty here anyway, but the drugs might be worth her time.

"Man this beer is shitty," Rose spat, "Just like the guys."
She waved off the third guy to hit on her tonight. This one smelled like pigs feet and gravy, gross. She hanged back, watching girls grind and guys chug beer.
She yawned, "Man this party blows. Maybe I should start a fire or something."

Thea finally found some people doing some cocaine in another room. Too hard for her, not the sort of thing she wanted to be messed up with. Marijuana and pills were one thing, but a hard drug was another. She left that room and kept looking. Someone had to have something more to her taste somewhere in here.

Some random guy sniffed the air and turned to his buddy, "Hey, do you smell that?"
They both looked around before the buddy said, "Smells like..smoke.."
"FIRE!" came a cry from the kitchen, "FIRE!"
The crowd was in a daze for a moment, but soon the reality of the situation took hold and everybody began stampeding outside.

As soon as Thea heard that, she didn't quite believe it. It was probably someone drunk or high and they were mistaken. But then she did smell smoke and figured that even if it was small, it was time to get out.

Rose had a couple matches on her so why not. She lit a condom on fire before tossing it and the match into a trash can, the garbage quickly erupting into a blaze. She then kicked the can onto the carpet, causing it to spread.

Thea was outside by that time, trying to figure out what to do. Stay and see how this played out, or leave before the fire department and probably police came? She really didn't want to be seen here, because there was no way that would end well, bystander or not.

Rose was out and about before the fire got real bad. Luckily those idiots forgot there was a back door. She made her way around to the front, looking as inconspicuous as possible.
It was the Glades, shit like this happens all the time.
She then bumped into some jittery panicky girl who didn't seem sure what to do with herself.
"Not having a good time?"

Thea turned and looked at Rose, then looked back at the house, "Well, there's a fire, and it's probably not a good idea to be here when people show up to deal with it. At this point I'm trying to figure out the best thing to do with myself."
