"You don't have to be worried about me. Did this mess up Ollie's life? No." It was Laurel's sister that did that. Or rather, ended his life, "Oh, trust me, I'm not going as far as he did." It was actually true, not just something she was saying to get Laurel to shut up. Richard's presence in her life was helping her keep more control and helping her be better.

"Oliver was working on blowing up his life when an accident happened instead." Exploding his relationship with Laurel, Oliver knew he wouldn't be able to hide the fact that he had taken Sara with him. He was pushing Laurel out of his life for reasons only he knew, but he wasn't maintaining his life, that was obvious. "Tommy and I think of you like a little sister. We'd drop anything to come help you, so don't push us away."

"A little sister? Really?" she questioned. They barely saw her, even in the past. She knew enough as she grew older that they weren't interested in her, so she just kept away. This sounded more like a fabrication to try to make her feel better now, and to justify why they were trying to "help" her, it didn't sound at all legitimate.

"Yes, Thea." It wasn't a surprise to Laurel that the younger girl was giving her attitude, the younger girl who had no idea what it was like to actually have a younger sibling and how that worked out. "Just because I didn't spend all my time with Sara, doesn't mean I didn't love her and certainly doesn't make her any less my sister." Maybe Laurel had failed at being a sister, never wanting Sara around because Sara seemed to always complicate things, but Laurel would have dropped anything for her sister.

"Now, maybe I'm not reading this right, but it sounds like you want to make up for your dead sister by trying to be a sister to me." She wasn't normally this bad, especially now with Richard, but this had all come out of nowhere, and it just felt so much like an intrusion that wasn't needed. She didn't want to deal with this, and just wanted to push her out.

"That's not it at all. I felt this way before the accident even happened. Do you really think I would have ignored you if you had ever called me? Regardless of what I was doing?" Of course she wouldn't have ignored Thea, she wouldn't have ignored any of the Queen family. They had accepted her when she and Oliver had officially started dating and Laurel cared about them all.

"I didn't need your help," Thea told her as justification for never reaching out to her. She hadn't. Maybe at the start, but Laurel had been around, and then, well, they moved on as best as they could. Thea went on Oliver's path and was happy with it, never thinking twice about if this was a good or bad decision. She just accepted it and went with it, no need to reach out.

"Fine Thea." Laurel had tried, but the girl had shut her out just like Tommy had predicted. It wasn't that Laurel didn't believe Tommy, but Laurel didn't believe on giving up on people. If she did, it would have made her a pretty bad lawyer. "I just hope that you'll call if you do." Laurel doubted it though, Thea was determined to turn into Oliver, or what she had envisioned Oliver to be at that age. Thea wasn't his friend, she hadn't been privy to all the information that Laurel and Tommy knew, but she knew enough to be dangerous to herself. She didn't know how distant Oliver was before the accident, or how he seemed just generally sad, like something was wrong. His life had never been as great as Thea seemed to assume.
Turning and walking out of the bedroom, Laurel retraced her steps back to the staircase and down into the foyer. This time Laurel didn't stop to look at the pictures, instead walking right past them as she headed out of the house, climbing into her car and driving off.

Thea let out a breath and went to her bed to get dressed. She felt like a bitch, but Laurel had no real rights to be coming like this. If she had wanted to be a part of Thea's life, then she should have stuck around instead of coming in out of nowhere like this, clearly in response to what Tommy saw. This wasn't a friend, this was just watching and making sure she didn't do something Laurel or Tommy would deem as stupid.
Thea wasn't interested in dealing with that. She had her life to live and she had other things to do. Besides, it wasn't as bad as they seemed to think. Maybe not long ago it was, but not anymore...
