Oh fuck. Now she couldn't even talk! Hearing her own voice calmed her down a trifle but now...Was she really going to die like this?
He nicked a nerve and she cried out but the sound was muffled thanks to the gag. This was really, really going to hurt. Quick and merciful was out of the question. And she could barely move. There was no way she was getting out of here without help. But who was going to help her? She couldn't think of single person likely to visit at this hour after her instructions. She was really screwed.

"Now that I have your attention, I might as well offer some explanation." Guillermo resumed his seat across from her. "I am going to break you. I would kill you, but you have committed a very special crime, and that calls for special punishment. I will break you here in your own home." He knew that would scare her senseless, as well it should. He was quite mad. He wasn't actually certain if he would finish here; she had to be moved eventually. She couldn't be kept here.

He was going to break her?! What the hell did that mean?! He was going to kill her. She knew that much. And yeah...She'd seen the terrifying way those other victims had been treated. But...What was he saying? Was he going to make her beg for death? If she had to die she wanted to die with at least some dignity, with whatever dignity was possible in this twisted situation.
Would he actually leave her here, though? She tried to focus on that, anything but the all consuming fear. That wouldn't make much sense. First place people would look for her was her home. She supposed if she was found here they had a better chance of finding evidence and stuff. But was the point? Like he said, with her death odds were good no one else would be willing to continue the case.

First part was psychological. He leaned forward, drawing the scalpel lightly across her chest, marking an "X", before sliding down, nicking the strap of her bra. Women placed a lot of emphasis on their clothing, so taking that away was a very large part of this. But he was going to be slow. After a few days here in her home, he'd bring her someplace else. He hadn't brought everything he needed, only what he needed for the first part.

He was toying with her. The blade stung but the cut was shallow. And stupid x...Guy was such a control freak. Focus on anger. Focus on analytical thinking. If she was going to die panicking about it was not going to help at all, just give her killer a sense of sick twisted pleasure and accomplishment. Whatever the hell he thought, he was not going to break her. She couldn't do much but she glared at him defiantly. That much was still in her power.

He traced the outline of the straps of the gag with the scalpel on her face, before removing it. "Defiance is always fun." He smirked.

He removed the gag? She could speak now? Why? She didn't get it. Did he want to hear her scream? Was this about breaking her, seeing how long she could hold out before she begged for death.
"You won't break me." Her words were fierce and defiant. She would not give him that power over her. He had the power to hurt and kill. He didn't need anything else. He wouldn't get anything else.

"Oh, I will. I already hold complete control here." Guillermo said, locking eyes with her. Without breaking eye contact, he reached down and ripped her bra off, tossing it away. "Case in point."

She DID NOT like him touching her like that. But there was nothing she could do about it. But she was a detective she knew how to mask her emotions very well. It was necessary when questioning people. So she held eye contact and tried to look unperturbed. "Physically you have complete control," she contradicted. "Physically, you can do anything but my thoughts and my will are still my own. I won't beg for death and I won't regret what I did. I'm a detective. Investigating sick, twisted, creeps like you is what I do."

Guillermo laughed. "They all say that. Each and every one. Yet every one has never failed beg for death. You aren't special." He pricked her on both sides of her chest, allowing thin trickles of blood to flow.

They all said that? Then good for them! Unfortunate they ended up breaking but she wouldn't follow that pattern. If she was going to die she was not going to die a shell of herself. She'd scream. That was unavoidable. She'd probably scream quite a lot. But she wouldn't beg.
He was still toying with her. The cuts were shallow. There was pain but it wasn't ridiculous.
She smirked. "You told me I'm special, remember?" she reminded him. "You told me it's personal."

"Oh yes. You might get to live, as a warning to the others." Guillermo said. "But not until I'm done." He cut a deeper incision across the top of the left side of her chest, sitting back down. First part was psychological.

She might get to live?! It was possible he wasn't going to kill her?! That was good news. She might end up really...messed up but she'd rather be messed up and alive then dead. She wanted to see her little brother and sister again. She wanted to keep investigating. If he let her live she would keep investigating him. Not like she'd say that. She didn't want to decrease her odds of living.
This incision was deeper and she bit her tongue to keep from screaming. "When will you be done?"

"Days from now." He said. He grabbed the ballgag and secured it back into her mouth. "The more it's worn, a ballgag strains the muscles of the jaw and eventually becomes incredibly painful." Guillermo explained, remaining behind her. He made a similar incision on the other side of her chest , and watched the blood flow.

Days from now?! Not fun...And she'd have to be moved if that was the case. She was expected to come to work tomorrow. People would come looking if she wasn't there which meant she couldn't be here. Obviously this was the first place she'd look.
And the stupid gag was back in. At least it should muffle her screams. Great...So even that was supposed to be more painful. Weren't there supposed to be mental exercises that numbed pain or something? Yes, she was panicking a little. Not helping. She needed to try and...Okay, relaxing would be impossible in this case but she should try and...focus on something else.
He made another deeper cut and this time she did scream a bit.
