Suitcase was opened and it took Marigold a moment to adjust to the light. She mentally cursed when she saw the black plastic. That would make identification a lot more difficult. She searched for holes and found none. Whoever had done the job was efficient. She wasn't going to get much but she noted what she could, the general dimensions of the building at least from her perspective and the floor.

Guillermo knelt in front of Marigold, locking eyes with her. "No one will save you." He felt like hammering that in. After all, first part was psychological. He rose again, moving to prepare some other things.

"No one will save you." Why did those words make her feel so hollow inside? She knew the truth of it. Really, she'd hardly made friends in the department, most finding her too overzealous or enthusiastic when it came to her work. They were afraid or simply paid off. So she either shamed them or was a nuisance. Such people wouldn't likely risk their necks to help. And odds of someone stumbling across her...Not even really worth calculating.
The gag was in her mouth so she couldn't say anything. But she glared back at him, determined not to show how truly afraid she felt. This was really, really, really going to hurt.

Guillermo picked up the scalpel again, making a set of four deeper incisions in Marigold's face, tracing the straps of the gag. Hopefully they would scar. A reminder, if he decided to let her live, of her crime.

The cuts were deeper this time and especially brutal as he traced the straps of the gag which were painfully imbedded into her skin. She couldn't keep herself from crying out. But she tried to remind herself that was okay. She'd known she would scream. There was no shame in it. It hurt and she responded. There would only be shame if she begged and she would not beg.

Guillermo stood. This was going to be brutal. She was going to get exactly what she deserved, and Guillermo wasn't going to feel a moment's remorse. He pulled a blindfold over her eyes, smiling at the thought.
