Yeah, 'Alex's' story was complete bullshit like she'd expected. She'd found an Alex Swann and it definitely wasn't him. Guy was legitimately American, born and raised in Starling. Hair color was the only thing the two had in common. Alex was a business manger in his mid forties with blue eyes. No notably suspicious behavior and no record of any sort of criminal activity. Of course that didn't necessarily mean much in Starling. Rich had their way. Guy didn't seem loaded but well enough off that he could probably make any 'minor' transgressions go away with a flick of his hand.
So yeah, Hispanic 'Alex' was suspicious as all hell. Basically all she knew was that he was Hispanic, had a reason to lie about his identity, and was really skilled with knife play which was enough to pay him a visit in her book. She could bring him in on charges for identity theft or identity fraud. But it would just be a play for time. She'd question him and try to figure out why he was intent on keeping his identity secret. Of course someone like that was hardly likely to come willingly. She'd try the easy way but she had a gun and handcuffs otherwise.
She'd been doing some research, trying to find him again. Eventually she hit gold. She hadn't actually figured out where the man was sleeping but she heard about him hanging around this abandoned storage facility. So she'd made it her business to hang around, discreetly. She'd been at it for a few hours when finally he came in. Now she wouldn't let him escape. But nothing hostile, not originally. If it became violent it would be on him.
Knocking was a bad idea. The storage had at least two exists and he could just flee if he saw it was her. He'd been in a hurry to run off at the cafe. She wasn't going to give him that opportunity.
She silent slipped inside and spoke loudly when he was in her sights so as not to startle him. You never knew what jumpy suspicious people would do. "Alex? Remember me, Marigold Jadis?" she asked calmly, left hand on the holster of her gun. She could have it drawn in a second. But pointing guns wasn't the best way to get people to cooperate initially. "I'd like to ask you a few questions."
